Bowie pianist Mike Garson has organized virtual tribute event “Just for One Day!” for January 8th

A tribute to David Bowie in the form of an online festival will feature a slew of notable talent including Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan, Gary Oldman, Perry Farrell, and Macy Gray. The virtual festival will livestream on January 8, 2021 to celebrate the late artist’s 74th birthday. The event has been organized by Bowie’s longtime pianist Mike Garson. The event is titled “A Bowie Celebration: Just for one day!” brings together an illustrious list of Bowie creative partners to cover the late icon’s work throughout his career. Tickets are available now and start at $20.
Garson elaborated in a press release: “What we’re planning is an amazing show with the most talented musicians from every period of David’s career, as well as phenomenal artists from many different genres. We’ll hear different interpretations of David’s songs; some with totally new arrangements that have never been heard before.”
The event kicks off at 9 p.m. Eastern January 8, 2021 and will be continue to be hosted online for 24 hours following broadcast.
