Listen Down: Four Tet Explores Drum‘n’Bass with New Krust Remix

Four Tet has released a drum’n’bass remix for the first time ever and it’s of Krust’s track ‘Negative Returns.

By Bubba Krishnamurti

DJ Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels is slated to release two remix EPs of Krust’s 2020 album The Edge of Everything. Krust is widely regarded as a forefather of the genre — the album is the first full-length record in 14 years from the drum‘n’bass innovator.

Four Tet has went out on a limb and remixed Negative Returns and transmuted the original tune into a more ambient/ less sonically aggressive track. “This is the first D&B track I’ve ever made!” Kieran Hebden, otherwise known as Four Tet, said. “It felt good to do something out of my comfort zone.”

Four Tet recently announced a collaborative LP with legendary hip-hop producer Madlib via his live stream on YouTube.

The first installment of the EP will drop December 4th with a second release to slated December 11th.
